Sri Lankan students to climb mountain ‘K2’

President Maithripala Sirisena donated one million rupees to the Kandy Dharmaraja College Scout Group troops who plan to conquer the world’s second highest mountain Karakoram 2 (K2) in Pakistan. This is the first time that a Sri Lankan Scout Group takes part in climbing the world’s second highest mountain ‘K2.’ It will take then 21 days to climb K2. The president commended the students for their keen interest to conquer this one of a kind task and handed over a Sri Lankan flag to plant at the summit of the mountain.
