Sri Lankan Italian crowned Miss Italia Fragola-Camposampiero

Sri Lankan Italian, Sevmi Tharaka Fernando successfully clinched the crown at the beauty contest held in the provincial town of Veneto last week. Winners from the provinces will go on to the Miss Italia beauty contest held in Italy. The 19 year old managed to clinch the award after contesting with 28 Italian contestants. Sevmi lives with her parents in Padova, Italy with her parents. She is studying to be a beautician and her greatest aspiration would be to win “Miss Italy”.

The event was organized by the Pro Loco of Camposampiero on the occasion of the forty-fifth edition of the “Strawberry Festival.” In addition to Sevmi, eighteen year old, Selene Rossi of Roncaglia di Ponte San Nicolò-Padua, became “Miss Rocchetta Bellezza.” 19 year old Aurora Cardin, from Venice, won “Miss Love’s Nature”. Eighteen year old Jessica Zuanetto, from Villafranca Padovana-Padova, won “Miss 4th Classified” and twenty one year old Valentina Sartore, of Montegrotto Terme-Padova, won “Miss Interflora”. Sevmi, Selene and Aurora are admitted to the regional finals in Veneto of “Miss Italy” scheduled in July and August. We wish them all the very best.
