Sri Lanka will shortly call for expressions of interest to build a yatch marina in the Southern port of Galle, Ports Minister Arjuna Ranatunga said.
Galle is the location of a historic Dutch Fort and is a tourism hotspot. The harbour has a Sri Lanka navy base.
It also used by a nearby cement grinding plant to unload raw materials.
Minister Ranatunga said the cement plant has been asked to cut emissions with the marina.
The port is already used by sports boats and yachts, as well as cruise ships.
