Sri Lanka enters U14 Asian Junior semis for first time

Sri Lanka led by Dinith Pathiraja as non-playing captain entered the semi-finals of the Asian Junior Team Cup Under-14 Tennis Championships beating Qatar 3-0 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Al-Dafna, Doha, Qatar, according to Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) sources.

Sri Lanka’s victory follows a win over Saudi Arabia and a loss to Uzbekistan early this week. In the semi-finals today Sri Lanka will meet strong favourites India. Result: Sri Lanka beat Qatar 3-0. Ashen Silva beat Nasser Alyafei 6-1, 3-0 retired; Kavisha Ratnayaka beat Meshaal Alkhanji 6-0, 6-0; Nelaka Dissanayake and Nenuka Jayatileka beat Abdulaziz Zainal and Meshaal Alkhanji 6-2, 6-1.
