Sanga bids adios to Test Cricket

Kumar Sangakkara the legendary Sri Lankan batsman who earned a name among the world’s cricketing greats for his record breaking batting feats, and playing in 131 test matches has officially announced his retirement from the game following the upcoming Indian cricket team’s tour of Sri Lanka.

Overall, Sanga has scored 12,271 runs in test cricket, and in that aggregate he has scored a century tree times, 10 double centuries and 38 centuries. He holds the second place among the world’s highest number of double century scorers.

Sangakkara, an old boy of Trinity College became test cricketer in 2000. His last test encounter between Sri Lanka and India before retirement is scheduled to be played at the Asgiriya ground, Kandy.
