Dear friends/ Sri Lankans,
Hope & pray you all are healthy & taking proper precautions not to get infected with Corona Virus (COVID-19).
Due to continued curfew in our motherland (Sri Lanka) for over 3 weeks, many of our natives are suffering with not having to work, or go out to buy initial needs. SL Government & armed forces are trying to reach out to many affected people. But they have not reached many yet.
Any additional help by any individual/ organization is greatly welcomed by thousands of desperate families.
Majority of affected Sri Lankans:
3-wheeler drivers
Lottery sellers/ kadala sellers in towns
Restaurant employees
Construction workers (masons, carpenters, etc.)
And many more workers whose families depend on daily income.
One of my best friends together with a group of genuine/ tender hearted friends in SL have taken initiative and distributed 2000 packages to families in need in the 1st phase ( in Boralesgamuwa, Nugegoda, Meethotamulla, Padukka).
2nd phase of donations is on the way to deliver packages (goods worth Rs. 700/ea.) to 5000 families.
Each packages includes:
Rice 3kg, Dhal 1kg, 2 coconuts, Onions 500g, TVP 200g.
