Sri Lanka Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sanjeev Nandakumaran as a Physician Director, Professional Development at Kaiser Permanente in Baldwin Park. He is the oldest son of Mr. Navaratnam Nandakumaran, who is well-known in the Sri Lankan American community in Los Angeles.

In this role, Dr. Nandakumaran will build upon the incredible foundation he and Dr. Teri Kim, his partner, have established as Co-Chairs of the Pathways to Partnership Program for the last twelve years in Baldwin Park. Dr. Nandakumaran begins this role with a background that includes serving as a Physician in Charge of Family Medicine at Baldwin Park Medical Office Building. Additionally, he was a facilitator and panelist for the Regional South California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) University sessions and a decade of Co-Chairing the Clinical Patient Communication Committee.

Outside of Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Nandakumaran teaches at the USC School of Medicine as a voluntary faculty member for Introduction to Clinical Medicine. He also mentors medical students and APPs from UCLA, Western University, and Azusa Pacific University in the ambulatory setting.

Dr. Sanjeev Nandakumaran completed his residency in Family Medicine at Harbor Medical Center, University of California Los Angeles, after receiving his medical degree from the University of Rochester in New York. Dr. Nandakumaran joined SCPMG at Baldwin Park Medical Center in 2007 in the Department of Family Medicine in a blended practice where he also serves as a Hospitalist. Since joining Baldwin Park, Dr. Nandakumaran has held leadership roles and actively served on several committees. Most notable was his appointment as Physician in Charge of Family Medicine for the Baldwin Park Medical Office Building in 2018 and his leadership as Co-Chair for the Pathways to Partnership Program since 2012.
