Chevaan Daniel, Group Director of The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited has been re-appointed to the Global Advisory Board of the Watson Institute of International & Public Affairs, at Brown University. He was first appointed to the Global Advisory Board two years ago in 2017. He has been working as a visiting lecturer at the University of Brown too.
Daniel completed his Master’s degree from the University of Colombo majoring in Political Science and being a Fullbright scholar he completed his higher studies on International Management from the W.P. School of Business of the University of Arizona. Receiving the Hubert H Humphrey fellowship, he mastered Digital Media entrepreneurship from the Walter Cronkite School for Mass Media and Communication. Brown is an elite American Research University, founded in 1764. The appointed Advisory Board includes senior officials from the UN, International Rescue Committee, WHO, The US Naval College and Médecins Sans Frontières.
The role will include influencing the initiatives launched under The Humanitarian Innovation Initiative (HI²) which intends to develop and foster a more synergetic relationship between the academic and applied worlds of humanitarianism to better fulfill shared goals of establishing effective and sustainable policy and practice.
With the launch of the HI², Brown University is in a unique position to bring together traditionally apportioned areas of academia to whirl the significant and increasing challenges that international emergencies will pose over the coming years.
