Alfaisal University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held Culture day on the 19th of November.
5 Sri Lankan Alfaisal medical students along with their families and friends put together herculean efforts to represent Sri Lanka in a booth during the event.
They integrated several treasured parts of Sri Lankan culture such as the oil lamp and stilt fishing. Every element of the booth was hand made, including a tea estate profile, a Perehera, vesak lanterns, a model of a typical Sri Lankan village house, and a model of the Sigiriya Rock. The female students dressed up in traditional attire like the Osari and shalwar kameez, and the male students wore the shirt and sarong.
Towards the end of the event a Baila dance performance was done by a group of enthusiastic school boys.
The event was a huge success and gathered a lot of attention to the unique and revered culture of Sri Lanka.
