Sri Lankan Americans from around Los Angeles gathered to celebrate the Sinhala & Tamil New Year at the annual Bakmaha Ulela at the Pearson Park in Anaheim. The event was organized by the Rathana Viharaya and the OC lions Foundation. The day began with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp flowed by traditional breakfast. A tape ball tournament and various avurudu games were played though out the day. Everyone enjoyed a delicious Sri Lankan lunch while enjoying a cultural show.
