Upul Dharmadasa started his travel business in 1984 without any investment, as he had no money to invest at the time. At the beginning he was solely dependent on Sri Lankan business. His wife Barbara purchased his office desk for $75.00, as Upul did not have that amount to even buy a table at that time.
Upul is always assisting and getting involved with Sri Lankan activities and organizations. He is inspired by the continuous support extended by the Sri Lankans in the U.S. towards the progress of Upul’s Travel Services.
He has experienced the American Dream of struggling to succeed and continues to work to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He has helped many Sri Lankans reach their goals through sponsorship and employment.
Upul remains humble even through the great achievements he has gained and still takes the time to deal with people personally. He is the CEO and owner of Upul’s Travel Service, Inc. in California, New York, and Washington D.C., as well a in Sri Lanka and Delhi, India.
