SLF Performing Arts Center mesmerize crowds at Lotus Festival

The 35th Annual Lotus Festival was held at Echo Park on July 11th and 12th. Over 3000 visitors gathered to witness a wide range of live music and dance performances at the Echo Park Lake. Mongolia was the highlight this year with various Mongolian sing-alongs. Chinese lions, bangra dancers, Hawaiian dancers and Sri Lankan dancers mesmerized the crowd with their traditional moves.

Sri Lanka Foundation Performing Arts Center was honored to represent our beautiful motherland with traditional drumming and a low country dancers on Saturday July 11th. The sound of the drums demanded everyone’s attention and they gathered near the stage to witness the dance. Onlookers of all ages were mesmerized by the beats of the traditional “Davula”, and the fluid movements of the dancers.

Sri Lanka Foundation Performing Arts Center will be seen again at Sri Lanka day in Pasadena on 15th August. So mark your calendars and we hope to see you there.
